Transmission Line Modeling
Modeling of transmission line plays a crucial role in any power system studies. There are many ways of modeling transmission line for load flow studies.
Neglecting the capacitance also acceptable for very short line. However with increased transmission line length, it is better to model the line as distributed model rather than lumped model (Nominal Pi in most of the softwares)
Simulation results shows the difference in real and reactive power for a 150 km, 400 kV unloaded transmission line.
