Modelling of solar inverters in ETAP

Solar Inverter:
A solar inverter helps devices that run on DC power to run in AC power so that the user makes use of the AC power.

Inputs required to model Solar panel incorporate with Solar Inverter:
Panel Details:

1. Electrical Parameters:
1.1 Power in Watts (P).
1.2 Voltage at Maximum Power (Vmpp)
1.3 Open Circuit Voltage (Voc)
1.4 Current at Maximum Power (Imp)
1.5 Short circuit current (Isc)
1.6 Efficiency (%)

2. Mechanical Parameters:
2.1 Length in cm
2.2 Width in cm
2.3 Depth in cm
2.4 Weight in kg

Inverter Details:

3. AC Rating:
3.1 KVA Rating of the Inverter
3.2 Voltage
3.3 Power Factor

4. Efficiency at 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% loading

5. DC rating:
5.1 Power in kW
5.2 Voltage
5.3 Maximum Voltage & Minimum Voltage

Definitions:
a) Power: The individual panel rated power in watts.
b) Vmpp: The maximum peak power voltage of an individual panel in volts (V).
c) Voc: The open circuit voltage of an individual panel in volts (V).
d) Imp: The maximum peak power current of an individual panel in amperes
e) Isc: The short circuit current of an individual panel in amperes.

f) Fill factor: It is defined as the rectangular area in a I-V curve that utilizes the knee-point as one of the edges of the rectangle. Fill factor should be greater than 0.7 for good panels.
