Petrochemical logistics company located within the PETRONAS Petroleum Industrial Complex in Kertih, Terengganu, Malaysia.
We are delighted to announce that our team has successfully secured a new project to perform Load flow and Short circuit Studies for Kertin Terminals Sdn Bhd (KTSB) is a petrochemical logistic company located within the PETRONAS Petroleum Industrial Complex in Kertih, Terengganu, Malaysia.
KTSB receives power supply from two sources: CUF-1 and CUF-2. The initial voltage of 11kV is stepped down to 3.3kV by two 5MVA transformers. This 3.3kV voltage is further reduced to 0.415kV using 2.5MVA distribution transformers. These 2.5MVA distribution transformers then distribute the power to 0.415kV LV distribution boards.
The Scope of work is to carry out the Load flow and Short circuit Study for the power system network at Kertin Terminals Sdn Bhd.
We are simulating the existing plant to integrate the proposed 195kW solar plant and determine if there are any overload issues, as well as examining any tap positions utilized during this simulation, and assessing the equipment loading variations for each scenario.
Study Cases for Load Flow and Short Circuit: Totally we have 5 cases for Load flow study and 4 cases for short circuit study.
Through comprehensive Load flow analysis, the study forecasts the steady-state currents, voltages, and both real and reactive power flows across every branch and bus within the system.
When designing new systems or assessing existing ones, it’s crucial to factor in the findings from short-circuit analysis. These findings inform the selection of equipment ratings, encompassing bus bars, cables, transformers, and safety mechanisms, for new system setups. Similarly, they’re instrumental in validating the adequacy of equipment ratings in established systems.
