We are happy to announce that we have recently bagged a project on power system studies for a Green Hydrogen Plant for a reputed steel industry.

This green hydrogen plant helps the Steel plant to reduce its carbon emissions by about 2,700 metric tons per year.

The plant consists of

  • 2.81 MWp capacity of solar PV system
  • 369kWh/738kW capacity of DC BESS
  • 4 numbers of DC-DC converter for 1.69 MW Electrolyzer load
  • 125kW of PCS & 150kVA 0.48/0.433kV Aux transformer for Auxiliary loads
  • Super capacitor

The objective is to validate the dynamic response and stability of proposed microgrid. Following studies are performed.

  • Load flow studies
  • Short circuit studies
  • Transient studies

We have Performed multiple case scenarios to optimize/select critical aspects of the plant design, such as:

  • Steady state power flow to ensure voltage drop, loading etc… are within the acceptable limit
  • Short time rating of the equipment’s
  • Ensuring the Protective Devices are taking timely action
  • Ensuring the stability in transient state (Solar variation, Faults, Outage of Equipments)
  • Ensuring reliable conversion in all scenarios

Congratulations to Selvakumar and Ajith G for bagging the project, And Congratulations to Dr.Ramesh and Suriya for the successful execution of the project.
