We are happy to announce that we have completed an Insulation Co-ordination study for 220/33kV Windfarm pooling substation at Kachchh – Gujarat using PSCAD software.

The scope of the project is to perform
1. Temporary over voltage study
2. Slow front over voltage study
3. Fast front over voltage study
The Project Consists Of
🔸220 kV AIS with one incomer line.
🔸Two nos. of 220 / 33 kV, 125/150 MVA Power Transformers.
In Temporary Overvoltage study, different cases like Ferranti affect, load rejection, fault with load rejection and fault initiation are simulated and analysed. From the analysis, it has be concluded that the maximum overvoltage measured in the network is within the temporary overvoltage capability limit of the Surge Arrestor.

From the Slow Front Overvoltage switching study, it has been concluded that the installed Surge Arrestor at the 220 kV are
sufficient to protect the Substation equipment against surges caused by switching operations.

In Fast Front Overvoltage Study,Based on Direct lightning and Back flashover studies performed. It was observed that the surge
arresters installed at the 220 kV are sufficient to protect the 220kV substation against lightning.

In Insulation co-ordination study, it is observed that the lightning arresters are enough to protect all the equipment at the 220kV substation.

Congratulations to Selvakumar and Ajith for bagging the project, And Congratulations to Kishore and Jeyakumar for successful execution of the project.
