We are happy to announce that we have bagged a project to perform power system studies for a Microgrid from an original equipment manufacturer of Battery Energy Storage System

The Microgrid green hydrogen plant produces hydrogen through electrolysis of water using Solar PV. The microgrid consists of 6.5 MW PV plant, 5.5 MW Electrolyser and BESS rating which needs to be optimized.
The scope of the project is to perform following studies using Digsilent Powerfatory
1. Load flow study
2. Short circuit study &
3. Dynamic stability.

Study also aims at optimal sizing of BESS (PCS and Battery rating) from energy perceptive and stability perspective. Sudden cloud events can reduce the power output from solar plants drastically and how quickly electrolyzes and BESS responds to maintain the Voltage and frequency in important.

Since it is weak microgrid, capability of solar inverters to operate under very low Short Circuit Ratio also to be validated. Transformer energization is an other challenge that needs to be addressed.

Congratulations to Selvakumar and Ajith for bagging the project.
